Position title: Membership Specialist

Position reports to:

Position status: - Exempt

Location: State College

Travel required: Yes

Position summary:

Membership Specialist is responsible for developing, retaining, and increasing girl and adult membership in an assigned geographic area. Recruits and provides ongoing support to volunteers and girls. Ensures membership extension and retention by implementing multiple delivery systems and program opportunities. Represents and extends Girl Scouting in the community through presentations, collaborative efforts and networking.

Skills and qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Two (2) yrs. previous experience in developing and conducting recruitment programs and events preferred.

Ability to manage financial resources effectively.

Strong communication, organization and time management skills, as well as public speaking and program capabilities.

Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

Ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize job demands.

Ability to adapt well to changing circumstances, direction and strategy.

Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the council.

Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.

Ability to work cooperatively in furtherance of stated goals.

Car and valid driver’s license necessary to carry out assignments.
