Special 57th National Council Session Results
On Oct. 19, 2024, National Council delegates debated two proposals and took the following actions:
Proposal 1—Girl members pay annual dues of $ (amount to be determined by National Council)
The proposal was debated using the fill-in-the-blank method. The following proposal was approved:
Girl members pay annual dues of $65 provided, however, that this dues increase shall take effect as follows: That girl membership dues be $45 for the 2026 membership year. That girl membership dues be $65 for the 2027 membership year.
Proposal 2—Adult members pay annual dues of $ (amount to be determined by National Council)
The proposal was debated using the fill-in-the-blank method. The following proposal was approved:
Adult members pay annual dues of $30.
We thank our national delegates, who carefully reviewed and voted on these proposals. You should feel confident that they reviewed the contents of our membership survey about the possible national dues increase and represented your views well during this dynamic democratic process.
No money from membership dues remains with councils. Once paid to GSHPA, these dues are forwarded directly to GSUSA. That said, our local council, while not receiving funds directly, does benefit from GSUSA initiatives, including programming, technology support, and other services.
Financial assistance will remain available for all eligible GSHPA girl and adult members to ensure that Girl Scouts is accessible to all families in our council.

If you’re interested in being a voice for your local Girl Scout community, vote on GSHPA policies, and play a part in governance, join our team of Girl Scout delegates.
GSHPA Service Unit Delegate Criteria:
- Registered member of GSHPA
- 18 years of age or older
- Current background checks on file
- Willing to serve as a liaison between the GSHPA Board and your service unit members for a term of one year
- Willing to complete delegate training
- Able to virtually participate in the GSHPA Annual Meeting in April
GSHPA National Delegate Criteria:
- Registered member of GSHPA
- 14 years of age or older
- Adult volunteers must have current background checks on file
- Willing to complete delegate training
- Willing to serve as a liaison between the GSUSA Board and GSHPA members for a term of three years
- Able to attend the GSUSA triennial Nation Council Session in person
